MISQ Special Issue on Registered Reports
MISQ is calling for papers to test the merits of the 'registered report' model of peer review. The registered report model involves offering a conditional acceptance on a paper before the final data have been collected. It is an innovative form of peer review that is designed to offer two benefits:
- Bias reduction: it can potentially reduce biases that arise in the peer review process if authors, reviewers, or editors are wanting or expecting to see results in a particular direction or pattern.
- Investment motivation: It can potentially motivate authors to collect high-investment data sets because the authors can receive a conditional acceptance before the data is collected (eliminating the risk of making a large investment in data only to have the paper rejected)
We enthusiastically invite you to consider submitting a proposal and paper. Details of the special issue are here: https://misq.umn.edu/call_for_papers/registered-reports
An optional introductory workshop will be run on Feb 20, 2023. Registrations for the workshop are due Feb 4, 2023. Please see the webpage above for details.
