Dear colleagues,
AI systems have long moved beyond merely supporting people in writing, analyzing information, or making decisions.
Increasingly, AI agents are taking on tasks autonomously within organizations: They interact with systems, use digital tools, coordinate activities, and implement resulting actions.
These developments raise a wide range of compelling questions for the information systems community and related disciplines.
I would therefore like to draw your attention to the following Call for Papers:
"Agentic Organizations: Designing, Governing, and Managing AI Agents"
Journal of Management Information Systems
Submission deadline: February 1, 2027
See attachment
The special issue welcomes theoretically ambitious, methodologically rigorous, and empirically grounded research across all levels of analysis.
We look forward to contributions that advance our understanding of how AI agents are transforming organizational action - and how organizations can design, govern, and manage this transformation responsibly.
Please feel free to share the Call for Papers with interested colleagues.
Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Best regards,
Martin Adam
