The Research Group on Collaborative Spaces (RGCS) invites you to join us for a walk in Chicago!

Walking together is great for our health! Among many benefits, It boosts our energy and improves our mood, and let's agree, we all need that to go through a fantastic conference such as AoM. At RGCS, we're not just walking, we're having fun while we do it! It's a unique way to learn and connect with others.

Open Walked Event-based Experimentations, or simply OWEE, is an approach close to the spirit of the French dérive (drift) practice. The idea is to introduce improvisation to the walk. Improvisation is key in the flow of the walk and fuzzy temporal and spatial boundaries for our events.

"Walking and talking is a powerful combination. It effectively mixes people. You can avoid someone in a "safe" seminar room or event convention centre, but in a crowded metro, bus or tramway, you may end up speaking to whoever just happens to be near you. When there is a large diversity of stakeholders – academics, entrepreneurs, representatives of public institutions, journalists – walking works as a powerful engine to break down barriers and create new synergies." (RGCS White Paper, 2018)

When: 12 August, Monday 7:30 PM

Meeting point: Sheraton Grand Chicago, AoM Networking Hub - Lobby, Level 3
