    Dear colleagues,

We are pleased to share two important updates that mark the next phase in the evolution of Kybernetes.

First, our new editorial, https://www.emerald.com/insight/content/doi/10.1108/k-07-2025-330/full/html, outlines the renewed aims and scope of Kybernetes, reaffirming our commitment to second-order cybernetics, systems-theoretical inquiry, and theory-as-method. We invite you to explore the vision that will guide our editorial direction, our expanded editorial team, and the redefinition of Kybernetes as the premier venue for systemic and reflexive scholarship.

Second, we are excited to introduce a new article format: the Theory Transfer and Impact Article (TTIA). TTIA contributions demonstrate how cybernetic and systems-theoretical concepts span boundaries and inform practical contexts. We invite you to read the first exemplary TTIA, co-authored by the co-editors-in-chief, https://www.emerald.com/insight/content/doi/10.1108/k-05-2025-1387/full/html, which introduces the concept of the multifunctional organisation, a systems-theoretical response to the growing complexity of organisational environments.

Thank you for your ongoing support of Kybernetes. We look forward to your future contributions … as authors, reviewers, and members of our international systems community.

    Kind regards,

    Steffen Roth & Augusto Sales
    Co-Editors-in-Chief, Kybernetes
