Dear CTO community,
Are you thinking about organizing a Professional Development Workshop (PDW) for the next Academy of Management (AoM) Annual Meeting in 2026 (Philadelphia) or are you just curious to know more about CTO PDWs? Join our webinar on November 12, 9-10 am PT (Pacific Time Zone), to learn how to design a compelling PDW proposal and what makes these sessions stand out.
What is a PDW at AoM?
A PDW (Professional Development Workshop) is an interactive session focused on developing participants' knowledge and professional networks. PDWs prioritize learning-by-doing (activities, discussion, practice) and welcome diverse audiences (doctoral students to senior scholars; academics and practitioners).
Webinar agenda – 1 hour
- Introduction: We will briefly present what PDWs are, how they differ from other submission types (e.g., symposia and caucuses), and what you can gain from organizing one for CTO.
- Expert Panel: Jennifer Gibbs (UC Santa Barbara), Aaron Schecter (University of Georgia), and Carolina Alves de Lima Salge (University of Georgia) will share best practices and lessons learned from successfully organizing PDWs.
- Interactive breakout rooms: Have a seed of an idea? Get feedback, connect with others interested in similar topics, and start shaping your proposal.
Interested? Please reply to this Save the Date to let us know you plan to join or you are interested in receiving a recording of the session. We'll follow up closer to the date with the Zoom link and final details.
