Dear colleagues,
My colleagues and I are developing a new master's course titled Information Systems Theories, to be offered as part of the new Information Technology Management concentration under our MSc in Management program (https://telfer.uottawa.ca/en/mscmgt/) at the Telfer School of Management, University of Ottawa. The course aims to provide students with a solid grounding in the theoretical foundations of the Information Systems (IS) field and to help them understand how these theories both inform and are shaped by IS research and practice.
I am particularly seeking recommendations for the theories to include-both intransitive/seminal IS theories that have historically defined the field, and contemporary IS theories that capture current developments. Which theories would you recommend?
I also welcome other suggestions on reading lists, ideas on how to structure the course, and suggestions on assessments/activities, and I would appreciate sample syllabi. I am happy to share a synthesized list of suggested theories and the finalized syllabus with all interested contributors.
Please consider dropping me an email: mayur.joshi@telfer.uottawa.ca.
Thank you!
Best,
Mayur Joshi
