Description
The Communication, Digital Technology, and Organization (CTO) Division of the Academy of Management is pleased to announce the 2026 Doctoral Consortium (DC) on Friday, 31 July 2026, at the 86th Annual Meeting of the Academy of Management in Philadelphia, PA.
The CTO Doctoral Consortium is an exciting opportunity for doctoral students, from PhD programs as well as from professional and part-time PhD programs (e.g., DBAs) to network, receive feedback on their research, and discuss career issues with experienced faculty advisors with a diverse range of research approaches—including behavioral, social, technical, and economic—to topics at the intersection of communication, digital technology, and organizing. The consortium will address topics such as finishing your dissertation, creating a research agenda, publishing in top journals, and navigating the academic and professional job market. Application, acceptance, and pre-registration are required to attend.

Additional Information
- Priority consideration will be given for applications received by 15 May 2026. Applications received after that date will only be considered if there is space remaining.
- Travel awards, providing partial support for travel expenses (e.g., hotel, airfare, and conference registration), will be available to students from institutions with limited financial resources (e.g., R2 institutions), students whose advisors have constrained research budgets, and those from under-resourced or under-represented institutions. To be eligible, you must first be admitted to the DC. Admitted participants will then receive detailed information about the required documentation and application process for travel award consideration.
- The Doctoral Consortium will be held on Friday, 31 July 2026, from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm (EDT) at the Philadelphia Marriott Downtown and will include lunch and refreshments. Participants are expected to attend the full session.
- Participants are invited to display a dissertation research poster at the CTO Welcoming Poster Reception on Saturday, 1 August 2026, at 6:00 pm (EDT). Mentors and CTO members are also invited to attend this reception.
