The New Space Economy is rapidly transforming the landscape of business and innovation. Novel business models are emerging at the intersection of space technologies, sustainability, governance, and ecosystem participation.
This roundtable will explore how business models in the New Space Economy emerge, when they emerge, what types exist, and how sustainability and governance shape their evolution. We will also examine space as a common-pool resource, raising distinctive questions around shared access, long-term sustainability, stewardship, and legitimacy.
Importantly, the discussion is not only about space ventures. Space is increasingly becoming an attractive domain for non-space firms (including firms in mobility, agriculture, energy, digital services, and other adjacent sectors) that seek to leverage space-based data, infrastructure, and platforms.
Together, we will discuss how space-native and non-space firms can participate in, or transition into, the space economy through new roles, capabilities, partnerships, and business model configurations for creating, appropriating, and capturing value.
